The Tasmanian Rugby Union is currently investigating an alleged incident that occurred during a match held at Rugby Park on Saturday 14 May 2011.
 
At this stage, it would be inappropriate to comment on specific details relating to an open and ongoing investigation.
 
It should be noted that several comments made in the article dated 17 May 2011 are incorrect and the Tasmanian Rugby Union is disappointed with comments made by Harlequins Club Captain, Mr Justin Kearney, in relation to the incident.
 
The Tasmanian Rugby Union is committed to ensuring that every person involved in rugby is treated with respect and dignity, and is safe and protected from abuse. 
 
The Tasmanian Rugby Union has adopted the ARU’s Member Protection policy that aims to maintain ethical and informed decision making and responsible behaviours within rugby.  A copy of this document can be found at:
